Isn’t it astonishing that all these secrets have been preserved for so many years just so we could discover them!

Aviation is a field that is full of exciting and rewarding careers. It also provides a rich platform from which to explore not only STEAM but literature, history and more. And, much of it is still unknown—a secret—to most.
Already, many teachers are using aviation-based ideas to add interest to their lessons. Some teachers are leading aviation clubs or teaching aviation theory or aviation career explorations courses.
Unfortunately, it sometimes feels like, as teachers, we’re alone, half-way across the Atlantic and out of radio range from anyone, wishing to hear a friendly voice, any friendly voice, on the radio.
(Sorry, that’s the ELA teacher in me, but can you see how beautifully aviation imagery can add to a creative writing lesson?!)
Wouldn’t it be nice if there was a common frequency we could all talk on?
On the October 22, 2021 BC Provincial Professional Development Day, we are planning an all day virtual workshop specifically for teachers, administrators and career advisors / support staff who are teaching aviation, or who want to contribute to the conversation about teaching aviation, or who are supporting students as they pursue learning about aviation.
